(9,314 posts)It is great you have found some common ground (pun intended) to share with your Dad, helping to offset the "feuds" you often have. Love those you have while you have them, I would say. My Dad and I argued constantly over political and civic issues. We drove the rest of the family crazy. He was very much to the right, as are most of my relatives, and I was and still am, the only liberal. Need I say more?
But your family is so much more than just issues, I have learned over time. And when your father leaves this earth, assuming he does so before you, you will find over time those issues you argued over do not rise from your memories. Only the great things a father does for a son over his lifetime creates memories that stay.
