Booze was far more ingrained in certain cultures. Plus, it was allowed and then taken away. Plus, it's being taken away created a whole host of new problems.

My best friend has always been obsessed with legalization. Which seems weird to me because a) I don't think he would ever smoke in a public place, b) would never smoke in front of his daugther, and c) was never lacking in supplies in the first place.

It's like he has spent 25 years wanting to make sure that the .01 percent chance he had of being charged with a misdemeanor never occurred.
