I'm not happy with the mandates, but I understand the need for compromise... [View all]

however, what I worry about is the rest of the ACA, and what affects the overturning of it will have on us. Right now, my fiancee is without insurance, but needs it badly, when she lost her job, we maintained COBRA as long as possible, but the premiums were just too much(it was over a quarter of our income). We decided to try to get quotes from other insurance companies and try to get her self-insured. They wouldn't even give her quotes, she's bipolar, a preexisting medical condition, Anthem just hung up on her as soon as she mentioned that.

So, since she was denied, our other options are medicaid and possibly our state's exchange, we still have a few months left to wait to qualify for that. My worry is if she doesn't qualify for medicaid, what will happen to the state exchange that exists now if the current law is overturned?
