doesn't benefit the desert tortoise, which is the real reason land in that area is not available for forage. It destroys habitat for an INDICATOR species. That turtle dies off and everything else in that area dies too. There ain't that much grass in the desert and running cattle over it is a good way for it to disappear forever...

just sayin'...
