My first problem with the piece you linked to is that it calls Sean Hannity a "media titan". I do not think he is a media titan. I think he has less than 2 million viewers for his FOX News show.
My second problem is with what Hannity said. His problem is not with the Democratic Party; his problem is with his own party. Elected Republicans and people the Republicans claim to admire say things like that all the time. I do believe Hannity and other Republicans defended Papa Duck Dynasty when he made similar comments about black people. Did Hannity take Paul Ryan to task for saying that the real reason for the poverty of African-Americans was the fact that a whole generation of black men grew up without knowing the value of work. Both Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich either made statements or came close to making statements along the lines of black people do not work, but just sit around and collect welfare checks, that black people should be encouraged to get jobs instead of just collecting welfare checks, and that they wanted to give black people jobs instead of welfare checks. Gingrich also called President Obama the welfare President.
So, if Sean Hannity does not want people to think the Republican Party is full of racists he should either ask party leaders to push all of the racist out of the Republican Party, tell members of his party to stop saying racist things, and tell members of his party to stop disrespecting President Obama, the first African-American President. He also might want to stop applauding people who insult President Obama.
