(21,043 posts)I guess it's a matter of politeness with tabloids, rags, TV, movies, and on DU when people use asterisks and so on. It's not that people are such goody-two-shoes. I'm not. It's that you don't want people to pass out from the expletives (if they're that delicate), though why someone would be swooning if someone is dropping the F bomb, is beyond me.
However, about the Daily News, yup, it's shit, no doubt, but it does have real news compared with The Star and The Enquirer, which have real news about 1% of the time or less, or if ever. Sure, The Daily News is rude, but that's the way it's always been.
On the other hand, there's the respected and respectable NY Times, which will print any lies but never gets a bad rap, as they did during the Iraq War for over a year, printing BS and unconfirmed lies which the public believed because, HEY, The respectable New York Times wouldn't lie for over a year WOULD IT? And people still think of The New York Times as respectable!
So there. Whom are you going to believe?
