5. I never did get to speak to Ann, but I did some volunteer work a couple of times.

Most of the members of the public employees association were Republicans so they were happy that I did participate as a volunteer so that the association would have the bases covered. However, there were (and still are) enough crazy Texans to believe that she was threatened by some of them.

The closest that I ever came near her was about 10 feet away when they installed Robert Hunter as the new insurance commissioner.
