Why many are supporting the Bundy Militia [View all]

Racism would seem to be a major reason that many would turn away, but others are simply fed up with the number of police brutality and abuse and are happy to see someone standing up and the Police, even in the form of Federal Agents afraid.

I thought of that when I read this news article.

The college student is not resisting. The photo sequence at the link shows him calmly standing there with his hands behind him while two officers are putting hand cuffs on. The third officer walks to the front, the student doesn't move, and begins to choke him.

Many people are outraged when they see pictures like that, or videos of police brutality. Most of us have thought running through our heads, and that thought is that we wish that it could or would happen to those bully's who are so overjoyed at doing so to unresisting people. We think that because we know that there will be no punishment for the officer for this outrageous incident just like there are almost never any repercussions from any other incident of police abuse or brutality.

But at the Bundy Ranch, the police who regularly use fear, and abuse, are themselves afraid.

I am not saying I support Bundy, none of my writings to day have done so. ALL of them have said that I wanted to see the people involved arrested later safely.

However, many of our fellow citizens think that it's about time that the cops felt what the average citizen feels. The sense of powerlessness at the numbers, the fear of those who have the power to unleash such violence and wondering what if anything might set them off. How many times in this very GD forum have we posted about this cop or that one abusing some innocent? How many times have we pointed out that the cops regularly lie, and abuse people daily?

Now, the cops are the ones afraid, and some people while aghast at the racist statements, are also feeling a bit of shadenfreude at the idea of the cops being chased off. There is an old saying, the enemy of my enemy might be my friend. So people who don't subscribe to the racist statements are still chuckling that the Government was chased off.

Now, the thing I've been worrying about is not how many more will decide that this is the time to act. But how many more will wonder if the time to prepare for the collapse of civilization is now? I read somewhere that there are 3.6 million preppers in our nation. That's just over 1% of the population, and a lot of people who are convinced that a serious disaster or doomsday event is going to happen.
