(48,121 posts)They see something, they get scared, and react. What they would rather have is a law that makes them feel good. Let's see how it works:
"You can't carry a gun anywhere because if I see it I am scared. Unless you are a cop, government employee, wealthy, etc." Ok - poof! We make it illegal.
Some lady wants to shoot someone and suddenly decides 'Well...damn. It is illegal to carry my gun in the open so I suppose I will just not do it'.
Is this guy just a jack ass? Yep. He deserves ridicule.
Will people on the left react just like people on the right do to blacks, muslims, women, people on welfare, etc and use this to try to make all gun owners look bad?
Yep. Because the idea of bias and stereotypes is embraced and used by both to foment fear and hate of others (and yet both sides seem to think the idea of doing that is wrong...but there, and here, it is).
