9. Alas, same rational behind employers providing contraceptives...

Health care is part of their salary. It's a good cartoon, but it's an apples and oranges argument. The employer says, "I'll pay you X amount and health care..." so it's part of the pay, like stock dividends or a nice office or vacation time. This is why employers can't block contraceptives. It'd be like saying to an employee, "I'm giving you this money, but you can't use it to buy liquor because I'm opposed to that." The employer can't dictate what the employee does with the salary that they've earned.

That's not the same as saying Americans must buy themselves health insurance. Which is to say, we can't use what we pay the judges to do their job on SCOTUS as an argument in favor of this mandate. We can, however, say to our elected representatives that if we have to do without health care, then so do they. There is no reason that they should buy such things for themselves with our tax dollars, but not allow us to buy such things for ourselves with our tax dollars. Meaning, of course, Single Payer or expanding Medicare.
