In reply to the discussion: I'm now a week without cigarettes, just an e-cig [View all]Behind the Aegis
(56,165 posts)19. One week?! Well, la-di-da! Pin a rose on your nose!
I've been tobacco-free for ONE MONTH (today)!
Seriously, congrats!! I know how hard it is, literally. I smoked from almost 29 years! I got as high as 2.5 packs a day for almost 15 years. I started using the vapor cigs and cut back to a pack and a few. Once I knocked out some of my triggers, I was able to fluctuate and I got a new way of vaping, that's when I really made progress.
Just a few notes, you can read as much as you want online about what happens next, but it really will depend on your body. I stopped coughing about 4 days later, then after a week of no coughing, it started back up, for almost two weeks now, but nothing like before. It is really subsiding now. I had days where I felt drained and just "down." This, apparently, is normal as well. The cravings....well, let's just say for a week I wanted to punch someone in the throat...anybody. Now, I get them every now and again, but it falls away quickly (usually).
Vaping made this possible for me, too.
I heard the legends/stereotypes/etc. about bad British food, but it is the vapor juice too?! Well, I must say, I am a bit interested in one of those flavors... LOL!
Good luck. Congrats! Stay strong!

I am embarked on the same journey. E-cigs are going to allow me to quit smoking.

Actually they do. 5162 babies under age 5 were reported in just 2011 as having ingested

vapor delivery devices should not look like a cigarette & the "misguided crusade" would be over.

IMO it looks similar to the Corp. pushers cancer stick. A shape that quashes complaints, like this

If you are doing disposables, I suggest White Cloud. Big range of strengths and flavors to play with

3 years here. After 50 + years of smoking. Even my doc recommends them.
