I know this could have been worse but I'm still shaky. [View all]

My tire blew out on the way home a little while ago. I heard this kind of clunky sound and I thought it was the lid of the old cooler I carry in back falling off. Happens sometimes. Then I started hearing this not so normal sound and I really couldn't pull over because that section of highway has no shoulders, just ditches. I elected to continue until I got to our village a short way down the road where I could pull over comfortably. Well, I discovered my tire was flat. I've never had this happen before and it unnerved me because I had been travelling at highway speed. Fortunately, it wasn't more serious and the car didn't handle differently and there was little traffic. I'm sure others have experienced this and consider it to be no big deal. It just unnerved me.
