I know a "trust fund baby", that is 50 years old. ALL he ever talks about is "his" money and all the places he travels, etc.. (me, me, me).
Yesterday he was talking about how race relations were getting stirred up and gaining traction. He took great joy in this.
I told him (truthfully) that it is just another ploy by TPTB to keep average Americans divided so we didn't unite and revolt about the fascist state of America. I followed up by saying "you know exactly what I mean, don't you?".
Well, he said "yeah", his demeanor changed and I am not sure if that invite to "the keys" is still valid...
He left shortly afterward, He has the propensity to be a nice guy, but his upbringing keeps getting in the way.
"Everybody always wants to borrow money, I will never marry just hire companionship when I need it" etc..
He has been in the process of buying up greyhound terminals for the last few years and having his employees clean them up and operate them. I guess that he gets a lot of governmental subsidies to help him get wealthier with this scheme.
I have heard him speak to his employees (and fire one) on the phone.
He once told me that he got in to this business because of his credit worthiness. Some guy (who now works for him) wanted to do this (supposedly quite lucrative with the govt. incentives) but he didn't have the needed credit. So he approached "trust fund guy" with the idea. He liked it so much that he invested and hired this fellow to turn these failing terminals around.
There may be a few wealthy people who actually create jobs (very few employees) but I sure wouldn't want to work for them.
He is very vindictive and enjoys firing those he perceives as having slighted him at some time.
Unless WE UNITE SOON this oligarchy may be too entrenched to depose. The enemy of our enemy can be our (closely watched) friend.
If even 20 million of the over 300 million repressed Americans, took to the streets, TPTB would be overwhelmed and scared.
Our demands would be taken very seriously. Obviously there has been something introduced (propaganda, subliminal messages,
whatever) into our lives that keeps us docile to TPTB, maybe it is the poor quality of our education, IDK. I do know that unless we overcome this inability to take control of our lives, very soon, it will be uglier than it is now.
What started this exchange: while paying for his (draft) beer, he asked the bartender if "they take Obama money here," I said that they did take Romney money...
President Obama, IMO has made being a Democrat (few real ones left, none in the executive branch) a "so what" proposition. That will really hurt us in all elections. During the terms that we expected positive "change," we have witnessed none. No big banksters, traitorous politicians (especially W. & Cheney), or anyone responsible for the economic and democracy killing escapades of the "w" era has been jailed or even made an example of. Instead we have had an increase of Democracy destroying policies, bush appointees still wielding power, secrecy increased, whistle-blowers becoming public enemy #1, austerity increases, the temporary wealthy tax cuts extended,a decrease in representation for the masses, NSA spying on all Americans increased, net neutrality sold-off...so much more.
Yet, instead of "the buck stops here" (willingness to fight for the people) we hear the blame game. Does your employer want excuses or results? Yes, we have idiotic grifters (r & d) in congress but intelligent, dedicated people find a way to work around the B.S. and get things done. The oligarchy is more obvious than ever despite their MSM ownership.
Hey, "we" got the ACA (single payer off the table), allowing Southern States to opt out of Medicaid expansion has made the ACA a penalty on poor Southerners.
We desperately need a Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren (or both) as President to even begin to clean up this mess. Where I sit, democrats are seen as a subset of the corporate oligarchy.
