I expect Obama will win but I get no impression that Democrats will dominate.
I hear much more about Republicans in the press which means they may get more votes.

For most uninvolved voters I'm sure it works like show business.
Any publicity is good publicity.

If a widely publicized news article explains that the Republicans plan to do this or that, the average voter only hears "Republican" just like they hear "Doritos" and it will affect their purchase, (vote).
