A subscriber gets every channel but you're charged a per hour rate for consumption. You don't lose anything. (pay $90 today for 200 channels vs eventually paying $90 for just the 17 channels you watch. It'll happen. $5 a channel is a good price point for an a la carte menu).

I like the per hour model because it might discourage excessive tv watching.
