If anyone believe these proposals have no chance of passing, how does anyone think a public option or single payer will?

Frankly, if unions and the Occupy movement join foreces, there is a much better chance of passing Harkin's bill. At the very least, getting it to a vote and strengthen the case for a Democratic House and Senate.
