the energy devoted by the same straight folks to entire genocidal pogroms against gay people in Africa, daily violent attacks in the US, or the basic fact that straight folks insist upon laws that allow them to discriminate and denigrate gay people. The fact is, straight hate mongers with anti gay signs are a very common expression of straight society which is rarely countered by other straights. Fact is right now today in Uganda LGBT people are in hiding and fear for their lives due to the actions of straight religious folks, including Catholic Bishops. Each day, straights on DU make signs that say 'We Love the Boss of the Bishops Calling for Genocide'.
Straight privilege means you get to whine about a spilled drink while smugly remaining silent about genocide.
