I think his negotiating style, especially in his first term is partly to blame. He first asked us to move the agenda, to press him to act, and then instead of following up like he promised, he sent out his pet pitbull Rahm and his neocon DINO Bill Daley to attack us for being too liberal.

The few times that he actually stood up to the GOP and acted, he accomplished a bunch of things. He shocked the GOP, which until then was used to a caver in chief, he pleasantly surprised us, and he got decent results. Unfortunately, those events were relatively rare.

I would love to see him stand up on net neutrality and to piss on his FCC chair. But it won't happen, because they agree on the destruction of the intertubes.
I would love to see him recall that neocon in Europe who single-handedly made things worse in Ukraine (and NATO) with her idiotic comments.
I would love to see him veto a bill sometime.

But these are the acts of a confident leader. Which is why we will only see half measures at best.
