In the U.S. however I have gone face to face with gay haters. It was the haters who changed my views on homosexuals from silent disapproval to open acceptance and advocacy. They caused me to examine my own prejudices and realize my hypocrisy.
I now will oppose any one such as this woman and have stood between those who would do violence to gays and their intended victims. I will freely meet violence with violence but I will not condone any violence against speech.
As for genocide, it is easy to talk about stopping it but much harder to do something. I have participated in peacekeeping missions to curtail violence against various ethnic and demographic groups. It is not pretty nor is it easy. Really the only way to stop such actions are to militarily occupy and assume absolute control over the troubled area. We have seen how well that works...
