and see, here's the thing...
I've often pissed off people here because I don't tend to see racism around every corner. I think the words, "racist" and "bigot" are too freely used, so I don't see myself as having knee-jerk reactions.
And I tried...I really did...to give him the benefit of the doubt.
There is no other word in the English language that I know of that starts with "nig" except "niggardly" but his use of that word would have made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Plus the word he was probably looking for would have been a noun.
But I have a feeling that even if he had come right out and said the word in all its disgustingness, there would still be some who would insist that we didn't really hear what we clearly heard.
