19. She grew up a priviliged child

in the very wealthy CT suburb of New Canaan, one of the more conservative towns in the state. I think either New Canaan, and/or neighboring Darien, were known for being rather intolerant/anti-semitic back prior to the 1980s. I think just the attitude of the times rubbed off on her, and because she was tall, slim and female, she kind of stood out amid the old white male crowd.

Edited to add that Glenn Beck is a current resident there.
