seriously bite or claw the child because he manhandled her? Who knows. But a parent who is concerned for her child's well-being would not keep the cat if it seriously hurt the child. Maybe they would find it another home--but a lot of people just don't want to go to that much trouble.

I am always concerned when I see adults allowing a child to mishandle an animal, especially one with sharp edges.

I love animals, so I like to see them properly and respectfully handled. And I am very protective toward children, so I hate to see them handle animals in a way that could get them clawed or bitten.
