2. I think there's some overreaction going on, but in larger context it's tacky.

I saw some of the posts, and I disagree with some of the comments that were made, like that nobody would consider a fundraiser like "Bowling for Balls" if it was a men's cancer. Frankly, I think people would do that, and I think people would respond favorably and with humor, just as some will do with "Baubles for Boobs."

However, in the context of all the women who are likely to lose their lives due to metastatic disease, I agree that it's tacky as all get out. I'm tired of seeing breast cancer being talked about as saving the boobies, ha ha, and this is how all you ladies can be glamorous through your chemo. Buy pink crap! Rah!

Breast cancer is no joking matter, killing or crippling so many women every year often years after they had their initial lumpectomy, mastectomy, chemo, radiation, etc. The marketing arm of the breast cancer fundraising mafia has done a real disservice to the women who are suffering most, and whose faces will never make it onto the glam posters because emaciated bodies, NG and feeding tubes, and wheelchairs are just too depressing to "sell" cancer to public funders.
