I'm not the sort of person who ever tailors my words to my audience and I have the scars to show for it. But I rarely run into trouble on DU, even when I'm in my most filthy mouthed radical lefty socialist environmentalist place.

Maybe because I'm also a realist of some sort. I voted for Obama, and I think he is a competent President, especially for a nation so twisted it didn't recognize either Reagan or George W. Bush as venal incurious puppets. (Bush senior was a little different, like Dick Cheney the undead, or Romney the smirking psychopath, Bush Sr. didn't always need the hand of Satan up his ass making his lips move; sometimes he could do evil all by himself.)

My fear for discussionist is that it will be boring if it's flooded with regurgitated mass-media corporate right wing crap, misogyny, racism, anti-intellectualism, gun humping, and all the other puke "I'd do Her!" commentary that infects so many places.

As Colbert says, reality has a well-known liberal bias.
