Rove is not a genius he just takes advantage of a lazy media that has sir time to fill. He is clearly not a genius because in this case he fell victim to his own mentor's (Atwater) creation of - perception is reality. Rove didn't saw that Hillary has brain damage but everyone knew that that was what he meant. The headlines were written and the story got out there. Sorry Karl no one pays attention to the follow up because there is no follow up in this lazy bubble media.
