94. Some things cannot be condoned simply for the reason of supporting the President.

NSA mass surveillance.

Execution of American citizens without due process.

Drone strikes that kill innocent women and children for no defensible reason.

Indefinite detention of terrorist suspects.

Criminalization of adversarial journalism.

These aren't just bad policies, they are policies that degrade the very foundation of our Republic. Those of us concerned with the rule of law, civil rights and opposing needless war need to stand up and tell the Administration they are wrong for doing these things. Silence implies acceptance.

You want me to stay silent on these issues because you perceive speaking up about them to be an attack on Obama. Yes, he has achieved some positive results, but the impact of those positive results does not come close to balancing out the truly scary things he does - for example, ramping up military operations in Africa by 217% since he took office.
