(20,904 posts)I don't care how many kids they have, if they feel that that is right for them, and the kids are treated right; and they do appear, by all counts, to be loving, caring, involved parents even if I disagree with some of their specific positions. But they seem to feel that what is right for them should be what EVERYONE else is doing, also, and that there's something wrong with a couple who don't want to have a gazillion kids, that it's somehow their "duty" to do so (remember, they're in the "quiverful" movement, albeit "kinder, gentler" representatives of it). And I get the feeling that a theocracy would suit them just fine. And their conservative, rigid notion of traditional gender roles is also not-so-cool. If it works for them, fine, but don't put it on everyone else.
