(Edited because of a post below, since Ed's new show is going to be 1 hour only.)

I would suspect that stations like WXXM or WCPT Chicago that currently carry Ed live right now will replace Ed's last 2 hours with Clark Howard (whose show is live 1-3 ET), a consumer advice host. Safest type of show to replace Ed with, since Clark Howard isn't overtly political or right wing at all.

KTNF 950, Ed's affiliate in Minneapolis/St. Paul, can probably move its local host Nancy Nelson to Ed's last 2 hours and then have all 3 hours of Norman Goldman live at 5.

As for new faces, the best names in progressive media tend to be online, like The Young Turks or David Pakman, since those in America most likely to lean left (people under 35) prefer online media to broadcast media for their info.
