when was it so? Perhaps for a few decades after WWII after we had wiped out our rivals and they needed to rebuild? We taxed at 90% in the 50s and folks actually felt like they had a chance. By 1980 the other world powers were back in play and again we had to compete. And we are back to the 1% owning everything.

It is going to be a global fight now - and there are many more of the poor than the 1%. Obviously.

I think what some of us see as "America the beautiful" didn't ever really exist, or maybe existed for a few people for awhile.
