83. True irony.

Posters bad mouthing people that post over there saying they create a bad atmo here for the good democrats here.

Meanwhile in other forums (on DU) the same posters referring to folks here that post in GD as "morons" "clueless" and whining endlessly about how horrible DU is ad nauseam.

I think it's a fine idea over there. Admin obviously did. If people find it distasteful there is an ultra simple solution. I have made a couple of posts but honestly the whole discussion board thing is becoming less and less a part of my life. It's fun to lurk and glean good information but I post very infrequently.

I guess I am getting less and less tolerant as I age. Last week a friend and I drove to Nayon (a "suburb" of Quito) Nayon is a town with probably 100 or more "viveros" or plant stores. Bonsai and gazillions of tropical plants. I was on a quest to find a "Brugmansia Sanguinea" for my back yard. Like a lunk head I forgot to bring a pic on my cell. So we spend hours trying to locate one. We found one. Probably the only one in town. Anyway I posted about our adventure on Ecuador Expats on Facebook. It was a fun and exciting day.

Suddenly a poster jumps in to inform us all that this particular plant is loaded with scopolamine. Which is used in kidnappings and other nasty stuff mostly in Colombia. And now my nice little thread about how cool Nayon is turns into a discussion of kidnapping and murder etc etc etc.

I know this happens all the time but I just don't have the patience for it like I used too.

Better to sit and watch the sun set.

PS The irony of my lengthy post is not lost on me.
