(118,273 posts)if you look at the cases he's described after leaving the corporate practice, they don't sound much like constitutional law to me:
... One of his first solo cases shitty cases, as he calls them was representing a Wachtell Lipton partners secretary who was fighting with a neighbor who had accused the secretary of having an affair with her husband. Greenwald represented the secretary and sued the neighbor for defamation, and the case settled. She ended up paying money that she didnt really have, he said. I feel guilty about that to this day. I so excessively litigated it. I was just, like, drowning this poor woman with all kinds of legal papers ... Greenwald helped win a $1.8 million settlement for .. a nurse at Staten Island University Hospital who .. injured her back ... Greenwald also spent roughly five years defending the First Amendment rights of neo-Nazis, including Matthew Hale ... Greenwald also litigated on behalf of himself and his then partner ... In 1994, they had been looking for an apartment in Manhattan together, and one landlord .. required a certain income minimum to be met for rental applicants ... Greenwald eventually asked his father in Florida to co-sign on the lease ...They moved in, and Greenwald promptly sued their new landlord. He settled the case for about $20,000, but not before racking up the landlords legal bill. They ended up firing their legal team, Greenwald said ... I was obnoxious. I refused to answer their questions ...

So, OK, let's look into this bit about defending the First Amendment rights of neo-Nazis
CHICAGO, Jan. 8 A white supremacist was arrested this afternoon on charges that he had solicited someone to kill a federal judge ...Matthew Hale .. was taken into custody .. as he headed to a conference on the copyright case in the courtroom of Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow... Law enforcement officials .. said Mr. Hale had crossed the line when he asked another person to "forcibly assault and murder" Judge Lefkow. "Certainly freedom of speech and freedom of religion are important in our society here in America," Thomas J. Kneir of the F.B.I. told reporters ... "But the threat of physical violence will not be tolerated" ... Glenn Greenwald, a lawyer for Mr. Hale, said ... "They are probably trying to take things he said along the lines of political advocacy and turn it into a crime" ...

... Hale was sentenced to a 40-year prison term for soliciting an undercover FBI informant to kill federal judge Joan Lefkow ...
Greenwald wasn't defending Hale's constitutional speech rights, unless perhaps you could soliciting a hit on a federal judge a free speech issue: Greenwald was actually helping Hale fend off a raft of civil suits
