I have just read about 1/3 of his 'biography", the the thing he calls his manifesto.
The salient issue about him that is already showing as he enters high school, he has deep social phobia, and keeps his thoughts and feelings to himself, plus his parents are not in tune with his day to day feelings and activities.
Then he gets into Warcraft games and they become more real to him than school and outside life.

Yeah, very much capable of being secretive and hiding lots of things.
