(6,342 posts)At least the MSM isn't dumb enough to blame this on half the population like some have been trying to do here.
This kid is one lunatic with mental problems. There is no conspiracy behind him. There is no movement behind him. MRAs are not even a cohesive group... I dont see them have any rallies. I don't see them have any membership or actual real organization or trying to lobby Congress. They are a bunch of keyboard misogynists on reddit. A lot of them are probably trolls getting their rocks off because they know they are making someone mad. Yet people here are talking as if MRAs are worse than Al-Queda and planning more attacks on sorority houses. I mean give me a break!
There are sorts of fucking idiots on the internet. No matter how hateful or perverted or dumb a person's beliefs are, the internet will have a group for that person somewhere. You want me to dig up what the TERF and radical feminists are saying? Have you seen their facebook pages and websites where they wish death to every man on the planet? Oh...but you say those are wackos...those are not real feminists.... "real feminists don't believe that," you say. The point is, it proves every group of people has their share of crazies in their ranks.
Elliot Rodger was a very disturbed person with some very intense anger and hatred build up over a long period of time. He doesn't represent anyone else but himself.
