(4,035 posts)Where she described how she'll be in an interesting conversation with a guy, talking about things they like, but then she mentions her boyfriend, and they act like she's been lying to them. Some even walk away mid-conversation, even mid-sentence. That is the culture of which MRAs and PUAs are the extreme examples - guys not seeing women as persons, not seeing them as someone to get to know just because they are interesting people with whom they share interests, but rather using shared interests solely as a bid to get laid. It happens a lot oftener than you think. The moment a woman signalizes to a guy that she's "taken", a shockingly high percentage of guys aren't interested in interacting with her anymore. That must be cultural. I refuse to believe that so many guys think only of sex, and of women as sex objects. I believe better of men. I expect more of men.
