7. GOP talking point: "I just don't understand why anyone would not have a photo ID."

Truth is a lot of poor people don’t shop much, don’t drive or have cars and never bank. You’ll never see them at the airport, unless they work there and they have no use for a passport as they are not going anywhere. In America, voting is something you should be able to do easily whether you have any money or not. Rush Limbaugh and the GOP know poor people would likely never vote for the hard hearted people that populate the roles of that party so the simple, logical way to make sure poor people don't vote is simply to make sure voters have a photo ID. It just seems so reasonable, after all how could anyone not have photo ID.

The pole tax was made illegal in 1965, this voter ID crap deserves the same fate. As it is, people must register before the day of voting in most districts, and as they vote, the names are checked off the list to assure no double voting. Another repressive rule that needs abolishing is the "Felons cannot vote even after serving their time" rules that exist in states like Florida.
