1. I agree that, on it's face, it seems really stupid. However....

I've visited many hunting clubs over the years in a professional capacity (I don't hunt). They all serve beer, wine, and liquor if they host overnight guests, and many skeet/trap ranges serve beer to folks coming in off the range in the same way a golf club offers beer and spirits at the 19th hole.

Your post does make me think of a fireworks stand in Tennessee that I've passed many times on I-75. It is lit up like Dodger stadium, and offers beer, cigarettes, and fireworks. I'm thinking that might not be a great combination.
