they think a slick advertising campaign will make people's hunger, frustration and distress magically seem an illusion, they need a new marketing team.
People see through the slick pharmco adverts, they saw through Rmoney's crap, and they certainly aren't going to be fooled nto thinking everything is peachy keen when they can't even afford to buy their kids new shoes for school or get that bad tire replaced on the car.
They won't be fooled into not seeing the inmates tortured and beaten to death ( by policies that promote hiring the lowest common denominator guards to increase profits,) they are not going to be manipulated into pretending half the people they know aren't felons or in prisons or on parole, they will not go merrily down the primrose path that tells them making shit wages and killing themselves for those shit wages is all an illusion.
The French aristocrats never saw it coming, and neither will any of us. You just never know which outrage, which horror, which beating or draconian law or business closing will be the tipping point.
If the 1% want to really forestall their own beheadings, they need to pay their far share of taxes, pay workers a living wage and bring jobs back to the US. They need to free up money for the common man.
No slick advert is going to forestall their demise if they don't end the suffering of the masses. It's a story as old as time.
Any attempt to bullshit the public in this manner will backfire, and may itself be the tipping point.
TL;DR: You can't take away a man's hunger by showing him a glossy centerfold of a pork chop. But in doing same, you may enrage him to the point he turns you into a "chop."
