The young man has some kind of deficits in intellect as well as poor emotional/impulse control. He must be around 30. My bf first mentioned how skinny and beaten down his child became while in prison. It took months of getting off parole and through a job training program that failed, to find out he contracted HIV in prison. Seems like a sue-able offence to not protect your charges from an avoidable life sentence for petty crime. Prison health care is subcontracted to outside agencies that stand to increase corporate profits by denying health care which includes testing for HIV/AIDES or the rampant hepatitis epidemic inside. Prisoners are not kept safe on many levels.

I do believe in humanitarian treatment of prisoners, mental patients, developmentally delayed, any one in custody of a state or federal agency should be treated with humanity. Yes, more humanity than they showed their victims. Because we can not sink to the level of our enemies. Which is what happens when we start to hate.

It happened to me in an instant on this board. I assumed the identity of a vigilante redneck playing around with how one might think. Sounded just like the hater I was hating. I became what I professed to be exposing and fighting against.

Hard to love your enemies. But that is really what it takes.
