With that said, Clinton was on the case for many years. He had planned to have a military excursion comprised of specialists to go into Afghanistan in 2000 to get Bin Laden and remove the Taliban. He never went ahead with the plan because he did not want to be accused of using national security to give Democrats political advantage.
