I don't know why informed people treat polls as some kind of gospel.

For the record, I said the same thing about polls in 2012, when polls were showing that every single Republican who was seeking the nomination would beat Obama in November. Who is likely to get the vote of Americans is something that Americans polls should be good at assessing, too.
