(14,581 posts)resist the urge to reply. Most often it's just attempts to educate a bad driving habit -which is usually just as fruitless...like talking to a crash test dummy.
But I definitely would not engage someone when I had a passenger with me, like a client, or family member. If things turned ugly, it's not fair to them to get dragged into it. (I speak from experiences, like when a girlfriend was driving me around and pissed off a policeman. I was the one forced to get out and up against the car to be searched)
Sadly, and ironically in the home of 'freedom of expression,' total strangers feel they have the right to attack verbally or actually based solely on the car you drive or the messages on your bumper. Was this way in the sixties as well as today...
So, stay safe out there.
