once the lying starts. It becomes a deep hole and the liars just keep on digging. liars depend on all others to be honest. One of the tactics lawyers use in cross examination is to get the witness to agree to a plausible lie. Once the witness agrees to the lie it's game, set, match.
Liars forget rule one: When in a hole, stop digging.
