And they have somehow convinced her that it is politically wise to come off as some kind of fundamentalist holy roller.

Unfortunately, she just isn't very convincing. Her speeches sound contrived. No, I doubt that she is the kind of religious person she wants the yahoos out in the "heartland" to think she is.

And it disturbs me that she is cynical enough to believe these tactics will be successful.
