12. Speaking out against bigotry that is reflected in laws of the land is not 'crapping' on you.

For fuck sake. Christians of many varieties have spent years openly attempting to prevent people like me from having basic human rights. In some nations, Christians are engaged in violent attacks upon us. They made Prop 8, spent millions to strip a minority of an existing right.
But if anyone objects to that, they are 'crapping' on Christians.
Any faith that teaches that level of arrogance has to be fetid, but you know what? Jesus taught the opposite of what Christians do when they whine they are being 'crapped on' by folks they attack. Jesus told his followers directly and clearly that they would be mocked for his sake, and he commanded that they rejoice and be very glad when that happens. He did not, in fact, urge them to stomp on the ground and say 'you are crapping on us'. He also never told anyone to go out and prevent others from having a happy life.
Why is it the Christians ignore the urgings of Jesus to rejoice when they feel 'crapped upon'? Why to they attack the rights of others endlessly, then when they face criticism whine and cry that it is unfair to speak poorly of them, while it is fine for them to say gay people are demonic and undeserving of rights?
Prop 8 was a huge steaming dump that the 'faith community' so wanted to release onto the gay community that they spent millions and millions on political laxatives to get ready for the day.
Let me know when someone attempts to vote your Christian rights away, how's that?
