Former Porn Star David Mech Seeking Palm Beach School Board Seat [View all]

A former porn star is looking for a new role as a school board member.

David Mech of Boca Raton has qualified for the Palm Beach County School Board's District 3 seat.

The 38-year-old was known as Dave Pounder while a performer in adult films. He began a math tutoring business a few years ago after he stopped performing in porn movies around 2010.

"A lot of people have issues with my background, but I don’t,” Mech told the Palm Beach Post. Mech holds two doctorate degrees and now runs the Happy/Fun Math Tutor company. His website says he's focused on five main issues affecting the school board, including technology, innovation, equality, sex education and secular values.
