Paul Ryan is mad at President Obama for telling the truth about Republicans
by Jed Lewison
Poor little Paulie is pissed:
Um, speaking of history not judging things kindly, how does Paul Ryan think history would judge a political party (say, for example, the G.O.P.) that refused to learn from their past mistakes (say, for example, the failure of trickle-down economics in the Bush years) and insisted on trying them all over again (say, for example, with the Romney-Ryan plan)? And speaking of taking responsibility, how about Paul Ryan take responsibility for supporting what Bush and the Republicans did to our economy after the Clinton years.
The only thing reckless here is Paul Ryan's plan to cut the top income tax bracket to 25 percent, and the only thing dividing Americans is Ryan's insistence that the poor and middle-class should be asked to pay for those tax cuts. And the failed record doesn't belong to President Obama, it belongs to Republicans and George W. Bush. President Obama in three years already has a better private sector job creation record than George W. Bush in eight. And it's going to get even better. And given those facts, it's no surprise that Paul Ryan would rather make up stuff about President Obama than actually talking about how we got to where we are.

History will not be kind to a president who, when it came time to confront our generations defining challenge, chose to duck and run, Ryan said. The president refuses to take responsibility for the economy and refuses to offer a credible plan to address the most predictable economic crisis in our history.

Like his reckless budgets, todays speech by President Obama is as revealing as it is disappointing: While others lead by offering real solutions, he has chosen to distort the truth and divide Americans in order to distract from his failed record, added Ryan, who is in Wisconsin campaigning with Mitt Romney ahead of Tuesdays primaries there.

House Speaker John Boehner released the following statement in response to President Obama's speech on Paul Ryan's budget proposal:
Our country faces serious economic and fiscal challenges. Americans continue to be disappointed that the president is shrinking from those challenges rather than displaying the courage needed to solve them. Instead of reaching across the aisle to enact the changes needed to restore Americas prosperity, the president has resorted to distortions and partisan pot-shots, and recommitted himself to policies that have made our countrys debt crisis worse. Hes so unserious about our countrys problems that hes offered a budget that failed to garner a single vote in the U.S. House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate. And his own party leadership in the Senate hasnt passed a budget in more than 1,000 days.
If the president were serious, he would put forward a plan to deal with our debt crisis and save Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for future generations of seniors without raising taxes on small businesses that are struggling in this economy. Instead, he has chosen to campaign rather than govern, and the debt crisis he is presiding over is only getting worse.
House Republicans, led by Chairman Ryan, passed a responsible budget that would help put Americans back to work, protect our seniors, close President Obamas massive budget deficits, and do all of the above to address high gas prices. It makes the tough choices the president refuses to make to address the staggering deficits and debt that are slowing our economic recovery, costing jobs, and threatening to destroy the American dream. Republicans are committed to the budget weve put forward, and committed to solving the serious economic and fiscal challenges our country faces. Its time for the president to join us.

What theatre! Coordinated acting no doubt. Stagemanaged events are how psychopaths roll!
