my parents picked up the dog at the shelter while I was in Germany and kept her a couple of weeks until I got home. My parents are not touchy feely with animals, all I can say when I pet my dog fur came out attached to scabs,I freaked out. I went to the shelter and they thanked me for the business and said Sadie had a good time and they would love to have her back. I asked for her blanket, and to my surprise they gave it to me - it was blood soaked. I showed it to them, they said it came that way - hah! not likely. I showed them the clumps of fur with the scabs attached. My dog that had been a happy puppy, was terrified of loud sounds now. I was training her to be a therapy pet, but the loud noise fear caused us to have to drop out.

Today, I board my dog based originally on personal recommendation, the dog before and this dog both love these has been going to the same two families for years, they take in dogs for 15 a day and let them live in the house with their other pets. How do I know it is good? They call me if there is any problem, and the dogs never wanted to leave - the one that had gone to that highly recommended kennel, actually had a crush on of the person's dog and followed him every where, ha ha . Never a kennel again.

edited - ugh typos
