I have a sort of reluctant sympathy for George Will. I assure you, I have no use whatsoever for his recent comments about rape, it's just that I seriously question his experience with the realities of everyday life. He's always seemed out of touch with humanity. It's as if he gets up in the morning, puts on his tailored suit, brushes his immaculate hair, flicks imaginary dust off his sleeve, and strides forth to battle unwashed infidels for the sake of the civilized. Did he never have a puppy lick his face? Has he ever gotten dirty? Has he ever cried for a friend?
