I made an observation and asked a question. I didn't tell anyone what to do or where to live. You read a lot into that. I have lived through several hurricanes and worked in flood recovery with HUD. So why would nailing the same piece of plywood over and over be more secure than using screws? I would think if you reused the same nail holes, it wouldn't be as secure. And if you used a different spot every time, sooner or later you'd run out of places to nail or at the least make a mess of your window frame or siding.
