(11,238 posts)19. Every hoax that gets spread looks real. That's why it gets spread.
There's no evidence KFC fell for it. They might have been doing a CYA while their lawyers investigated. How many times over the years must they get people trying to flim-flam them for easy cash, do you suppose? I doubt very much they "fell" for it. And btw, what's $30K to them in exchange for the good publicity of being seen as having a heart even if they weren't liable?
I'm really just advising that people have a little healthy skepticism about what they read, before posting it to be spread all across social media.
